Making perfect hard boiled eggs is easier than I thought. What is a perfect hard boiled egg anyway?

A perfect hard boiled egg has the yolk cooked all the way through, but not overcooked and has no dark ring around the yellow.  It has to be easy to peel so you can make deviled eggs.

I love hard boiled in chopped in a salad or just as a snack with salt and pepper. I love this special egg salad from child hood.

How to Make Perfect Hard Boiled Eggs

Ingredients

  • 12 Eggs
  • 1 large pot
  • cold water
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

  • Place eggs in pot. Add enough cold water to cover eggs plus two inches.
  • Add vinegar.
  • Bring to boil. Boil one minute.
  • Turn off heat. Cover for 12 minutes.
  • Rinse in cold water. Eggs should be easy to peel.

    just made these hard boiled egg recipe, and they didn’t peel easily. followed instructions as you said.

      It’s possible that they were super fresh eggs, which sometimes are very difficult to peel.

    Turned out wonderful, thank you, now it’s time to mix, but I usually stick with mustard and miracle whip and dig thru the frige for a little twist and I like spicy food, will also mince a sweet onion to ad to the yoke mix. Didin’t take but a few minutes to peel 18 eggs and that is what I enjoy, thanks again, I have a lot of homemade other recipes if interested and my boneless, skinless chicken breasts melt in your mouth, I’m talking twice as tender as say a boneless, skinless chicken thigh. Have nice day
