When I asked if I would be willing to recreate this protein smoothie for AllWhites Egg Whites I said yes. Smoothies are very popular here at Spinach Tiger. I know you like them, because two of them always make it in the top ten.
That tells me that many of you out there are looking for healthy and quick choices, and you like using your blender.
This recipe also solves a problem for me and I hope for you too.
I work out three to five times a week. Two of these are boot camp type workouts, and I am always looking for the right thing to eat post work out. My trainers tell me it’s very important to have a combination of protein and carbs within the first hour after working out, or else you’re hungry all day.
I was very attracted to this recipe for the combination of high protein from the egg whites and peanut butter and the healthy carbs from the banana. The egg whites are pasteurized so no worries about eating raw eggs.
Aside from post workouts, high protein smoothies are the perfect breakfast or lunch to keep energy up and calories down, especially in the upcoming holiday season.
One of the ways I manage to get through the holidays with very little casualty is to trim way back on off days, week days, and make sure I don’t starve myself before attending a gathering. You know what happens then, right?
This is also a great breakfast drink for school age kids, especially for kids who have to get the super early buses.
This is very easy to make in just a few minutes in your blender One of the things I do is keep bananas peeled and frozen, because this helps to keep smoothies ice cold. You can always add a little ice, but I found that the frozen banana makes the smoothie creamier. Carob is used in this recipes as alternative to chocolate as it doesn’t contain caffeine. Look for it in the health food section.

This looks good. I have never tried a shake with egg whites…i think I need to try it.
I would have never thought about using the egg whites . Your smoothie looks delicious. I’m pinning it.
My favorite smoothie at my gym is The Elvis which sounds a lot like your smoothie. Yum! I love the egg white trick since I’ve stopped using protein powders. The sugars in them make me jumpy
