As a food blogger there are many recipes that are one and done. NOT THIS ONE. I have been making several versions of the legendary almond tart (originally from Chez Panisse) for over ten years.👩🏻‍🍳 Doug and I often talk about perfect songs that cannot be messed with like Amazing Grace and Bohemian Rhapsody. Does anyone remember Lamb Chops (the puppet)? Back then that was the ONLY lamb chops I liked, but now all grown up, rack of lamb is quick easy go to dinner for us. 👩🏻‍🍳QUICK you say. Rack of Lamb Recipe

olive oil
lemon juice
one lemon thinly sliced
Za’atar spice
salt, pepper
Bring lamb rack down to room temperature (leave out for about an hour from fridge). Season with salt, pepper. Rub olive oil, lemon juice and sprinkle with za’atar.
Place slices of lemon on lamb.
Roast at 400 degrees F. for 20 minutes for medium rare.

Savory Fruit Compote
* 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
* 1 medium pear, peeled, cored, finely chopped
* ¼ cup finely chopped shallots
* ¼ cup blueberries
* 3 tablespoons dry vermouth (can use white wine)
* 1 teaspoon brown sugar
* ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

COMPOTE INSTRUCTION
1. Heat 2 tablespoons butter in medium pan. Add shallots, pear and blueberries until cooked through about one minute.
2. Add dry vermouth or white wine brown sugar, dash salt. Bring to boil, reduce heat to low, continue to cook for about 6-8 minutes, and mash to make a compote

#ad How do you eat when you’re rushed with life and who isn’t? I work from home and don’t want to rely on delivery when I’m rushed, because I need healthy eats to keep me happy. 😋 I’ll often make enough for lunch and dinner later, but one way to change it up is to change the sauces. Tiger Tail helped me with that as I put horseradish mustard on one burger patty and wing sauce on another. Both low to no carbs (no sugar) and both so good. 😋😋 Last week I used the honey mustard for a vinaigrette on a kale butternut squash salad I brought to my connect group and they loved it. 😍I used it for this salad also. Second most popular blog post of the summer, and just moved into number one. Sear, Roast, LOVE! Start with good New York Strip Steak. I find the ones at Whole Foods to be far superior over anything in a grocery store, but you know your own preferences. Psssst…..don’t forget if you’re a prime member, these do go on sale for as low as $9.99 a pound. This recipe is a busy person’s dream, because it can be made in just under 10 minutes. The other thing I do to save time (and still eat well) is make a vinaigrette in a jar that will last for the week, (we eat salad every single night). Cooking is a challenge on my baking days, but the funny thing is I don’t have a sweet tooth; I’m all about savory, especially red meat and veggies.

School has already started here which in my opinion is crazy 🤪, as it’s Nashville’s hottest month of the year! Whoever decided to take half the summer away from kids was just never a kid! Having said this, moms are already exhausted 😔because it’s just a barrel of fun driving kids to school in 98 degree weather or standing at the bus stop. It’s still LIGHT out at night and harder to get the kids to bed early. Again, WHOSE idea was this? 🙄We never started school until after Labor Day, when the weather was about to shift and you could begin to feel the season change. So there’s my vent, and having said all that, I bring you a crockpot peach bolognese 🍑😋which marries summer and winter and brings the family a little bit of comfort during this too early of a transition. Make a double batch of bolognese, ❤️❤️FREEZE for another busy night and get some comfort from what my family thinks is the highest of feel good foods.
