Red Velvet Cake in a Jar

- Red Velvet cake batter found here
- cream cheese frosting found here
- 12 half-pint wide mouth jars order here
- cooking spray
Heat oven to 350
wash jars well
spray jars well
pour 1/4 to 1/3 batter into jars. (you might do a test ahead to see how high your cake rises)
You will probably have batter left over that you can make cupcakes with.
Bake for 20 minutes - Check at 15 minutes to see how done cake is.
Test with a toothpick or cake tester.
Cool completely.
Pipe an inch of icing into jar.
Top with a lid. Refrigerate up to 3 days. Or freeze.
If you freeze, leave an inch at the top.
Take out. Defrost an hour before serving.
