[…] I used four cups of strawberries, one cup of water, 1/2 cup sugar. You can make strawberry sauce thicker by reducing it a bit more or using less water. you can take this and press it through a mesh colander and make strawberry simple syrup. Simple syrup makes great cocktails and in case you missed it, my previous post was a strawberry martini. You could also use the syrup to make a great strawberry balsamic ice cream.
I would to make this and I am a little confused. It says to heat half n half in the first step but I dont see half n half listed in the ingredients. I only see heavy cream and milk. After cooking then it says to add cream. I already started this recipe and didnt realize I had to add cream again after cooking so I put all the cream and milk in first cooked with egg yolk and made the custard so now I am stuck with nothing to add to the cooked cream. Am I confusing you lol.
Well for now I will see if it turns out. If you could help me for next time. I am wondering if this will come out without any half n half? We shall see?? Hope so
I love balsamic with strawberries cant wait till tonight to put in ice cream maker.
Thank you!

I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed this ice cream! Honestly, it's the best ice cream I've made to date. I'm not the biggest fan of strawberry ice cream but I felt like the flavor was heightened in this recipe and we scoffed it down quickly. Thank you for your kind words about my blog!
