Nashville Based Christie Cookies Co. and a Valentine’s Cookie Giveaway

Christie Cookies

A few months ago, Christie Cookie Co. invited a group of bloggers to see their renovated space and  and to sample cookies and milk, along with some creative desserts made with their products.

At that time, I asked them if they’d like to participate in a giveaway and they graciously said yes. We agreed that it should be for Valentine’s Day, and the combination known as the Perfect Pair was aptly chosen. I also wanted a chance to show off one of our beloved food companies founded here in Nashville.

Christie Cookie Company began in Nashville, over 30 years ago, with a chocolate chip cookie that cleverly uses a chopped up Heath bar (toffee bar), resulting in an uncanny flavor and texure, which helped propel Christie Cookies to national fame.

You have probably already eaten a cookie baked at the Christie Cookie Company if you’ve had that scrumptious, warm, chocolate chip cookie at the DoubleTree Hotel, which each guest receives upon arrival. No better way to say welcome.

During the blogger get together, we got to see the remodel of their headquarters, sample brownies, cookies and  specially prepared desserts by Chef Tony Schmidt.

The chef created treats and cocktails made with the Christie Cookie products, inspiring us to make easy desserts, creatively using their products.

Our favorite idea was roasted banana pudding garnished with a slice of the pecan cookie. It’s the dessert we all swooned over. Another cool idea would be to crumble a cookie and trim a cocktail glass. Dip the rim in chocolate, dip into cookie crumbs and voila. We were also served a vanilla cookie martini, with a sugar cookie rim.Chrisite Cookie Co.

There was also a s’mores dessert, which was quite enticing.

While the homemade flavors and quality of the products that goes into the cookies was front and center, I learned a few more impressive facts about the Christie Cookie Co.

  • They make their cookies in small batches.
  • This means no shortcuts.
  • They use only real butter, gourmet ingredients and haven’t changed their hand made ways in over 30 years.
  • Christie Cookies makes more than 70 million cookies every year, shipped all over the United States.
  • They use 13,174 lbs of raisins, 644,200 lbs of chocolate, and 148,634 lbs of sugar every year.
  • No Preservatives. The cookies are made to order and shipped immediately. They have a shelf life of about two weeks, and that’s a good thing because you don’t need to worry about strange ingredients.

Christie Cookies has put together several tins including a tin called Rhythm and Blues, and Harmony in honor of Music City. Be sure to visit the website and send your favorite Valentine some handmade cookies.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Christie Cookie has provided a giveaway called the Perfect Pair. It’s a combination of brownies and chocolate chip cookies and has a retail value of $47.99.

Good luck and be sure to enter, and think about who you might give this Perfect Pair to.

Nashville has been on my list of must visit cities and I hope to have scratched off during the summer. There seems to be such culture and energy there obviously with the food scene not lagging behind but actually at the forefront. I love gourmet desserts and based on your review of Christie Cookie Co, I think I will be ordering some for my hussie for Valentine’s day.,

I have loved Christie Cookies for years. Went there a ton in the late 80’s/early 90’s when they had a store in Green Hills. I am definitely a cookie person – except for when I have an opportunity for a corner brownie. Then it’s a tough decision.
