					<description><![CDATA[Except for the pistachio for pine nut substitution and garlic your recipe is identical to my mother&#039;s. She did not like garlic so she did not use it. I put in one clove for my pesto. I will try the pistachio&#039;s on my next batch. I use a plastic ice cube tray to freeze my excess pesto and transfer them to a zip lock bag once they are frozen.

Just as an FYI; the basil leaves can be blanched to help retain their color. Remove the center spine as it can be bitter]]></description>
