Goat Cheese Biscuits

A goat cheese biscuit, fluffy and tender with a sweet goat cheese flavor.

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 ounces goat cheese, cold
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, very cold
  • ¾ cups buttermilk or whole milk
  • milk for brushing biscuits
  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees (425 for convection oven)
  2. Mix dry ingredients together well.
  3. Chop butter and goat cheese into small pieces. Place in freezer for 10 minutes.
  4. Using hands, mix into flour mixture, making sure not to smear in, leaving small pieces.
  5. Add in milk and mix using wooden spoon
  6. Form into a ball and pat down.
  7. Cut with biscuit cutter.
  8. Place on baking stone, or cast iron pan or griddle, touching.

  10. Brush with milk (to aid in browning)
  11. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
