This is an Italian classic, I first read about it in a cook book which was my bible when I went to University, and that I continue to dip in and out of now, The Pauper&#8217;s Cookbook by Jocasta Innes. I actually had the New Pauper&#8217;s Cookbook because the 1970 something one was out of print, my mum has since bought me the reissued original and it is wonderful. It has sections of dieting and bulk cooking that were removed form the new edition and I love it as a historical document as much as a cook book. In fact this recipe isn&#8217;t in the original (I&#8217;ve just checked) but only in the &#8216;New&#8221; version. [...]]]></description>
